I know Irish Winters have a habit of lulling us into a false sense of security towards the end, thinking they are over just as they unleash a Siberian snowstorm or howling gale on us. But in the last week or so, it does feel like Spring must be just around the corner. After a few beautiful crisp frosty days in early January it has warmed up steadily. We have had a few nights where we didn’t bother lighting the fire which is always a good sign for us that Winter is over. It also felt good to get back into the swing of things after Christmas with our first weekend yoga retreat on the third weekend in January. The wonderful Fabiana Mizzoni led a full group, and we were very happy to welcome them all to our home and to see how other people respond to the magic of St Mullins. Our regular weekly yoga classes have resumed since the first week in January and it has been incredibly affirming to see more and more people coming out to the classes. There was a very marked decline in number attending classes in the lead-up to Christmas. No doubt this was partially due to anxiety around the spread of the Omicron variant. Since we reopened after Christmas, not only are people coming back to the classes, but also new people are finding us and coming regularly. This has given us a such a big boost and motivates us to put even more energy into the classes and the weekends. We are looking forward to our upcoming events; you can read about some of them below and of course there is always our website with the latest news and information. See you soon @Mulvarra! Love,
Tim and Linda
If you are looking for a really special way to harness and direct all of this renewed energy, our next event on the 18th February might be perfect for you. Maggie Dunne leads a full weekend of invigorating yoga, grounding mindfulness meditation, and possibly some fierce craic. These retreats are very often highly social affairs and can be a great way to make new friends. Or maybe some quiet time to reflect and plan for the year ahead is what you are after, and there will be plenty of opportunity for that. Maggie Dunne is an incredibly well respected Irish yoga teacher who has studied with renowned teachers such as Shiva Rea, Donna Farhi, John Frend, Mia Finnes-Gurmuck and many others. We still have some places available for this. Booking is done separately on Maggie’s website. You can find the link here.
