Mulvarra House

Due to the unfolding national and global crisis around Covid 19, Mulvarra House will be closed until further notice.

We have reopened

We were very happy to be able to be able to reopen and announce a programme of events for the coming months. It was of vital importance to us that we could reopen safely, and have made adjustment sin terms of how we run events and of course the number of people we can safely accommodate for an vent. As the situation with COVID 19 develops, we will constantly make sure that the measures we are adopting to help stop the further spread of the virus are in line with the most up-to-date guidelines. We have placed more information on our current policies and response to the situation here.
We would ask for your understanding and cooperation in helping us to ensure that we can  continue to operate safely safely. Above all we want for you to be able to feel that you can come to Mulvarra to experience the beauty and peace of St Mullins with complete ease of mind.

Discover Mulvarra House - a new workshop and retreat centre on the River Barrow

Running workshops and retreats year round

Mulvarra House is a new workshop and retreat centre located in the village of St Mullins on the River Barrow. We run weekend workshops and retreats primarily in the areas of yoga/meditation, traditional arts and crafts, and food. Located right on the border of Carlow, Kilkenny, and Wexford, we are an hour and a half away from Dublin. Waterford and Kilkenny are practically on our doorstep.

Your hosts, Tim and Linda, have created a wonderfully peaceful and relaxed environment at Mulvarra. While at Mulvarra, you will get to experience a truly magical landscape which surrounds the ancient monastic site of St Mullins, the jewel of the River Barrow. Whether you come to Mulvarra to practice yoga, unleash your creativity, paint, meditate, or just stay and rest and relax, you will come away feeling replenished and revived.

I have just come down to earth after a magical weekend yoga retreat in Mulvarra House. It is my second retreat in Mulvarra and it will not be the last. Everything was perfect from the incredibly peaceful yoga studio, to the most comfortable bed, to the heart warming vegetarian food. The hosts Tim and Linda make Mulvarra house what it is, a truly magical space. Thank you so much 😊

How to find us

The food experience on the retreat

At Mulvarra, we are very excited about food. Excited about where it comes from, how it is grown, how it is prepared, who you eat it with. As we are still in the early stages of developing Mulvarra and its Breathing Space, we are currently using fresh ingredients and organic food where we can but in the future we will grow our own food.We generally stick to vegetarian cooking in Mulvarra, although we are flexible and also cater to a variety of dietary restrictions. Vegetarian cooking is so versatile, you really don’t miss that piece of meat on your plate when it’s not there. Whatever your thoughts are on the topic, there is no denying that the meat production in most countries is not sustainable and certainly not animal friendly. When we do, very occasionally, prepare meat dishes we make sure it’s organically sourced

Food Highlights

  • Full board accommodation
  • All meals and drinks included
  • healthy energy snacks
  • Food is all vegetarian and organic produce
