Yoga and the five elements of nature

3 day workshop 24th - 26th April 2020

Explore your Body, Mind & Spirit, through the five elements of nature. Using our natural environment to connect to each of the seven Chakras restoring balance.

Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether will be the focus points throughout our weekend retreat. We will be using each of these precious elements that surround us daily to bring a sense of balance and harmony into our lifes.

Style of Yoga to be taught
Hatha Yoga is a great place for people to start their yoga journey with so many variations of the physical practice, however these can also challenge the most advanced practitioner. The word Hatha represents balance. Bringing a balance of soft, slow poses with a mix of strong, dynamic poses. Warming the body and cooling the body, bringing strength and softness, physically, emotionally and mentally. Hatha will be our morning ‘Yang’ practice allowing us to wake up and be energized for the day to come.
The evening time will be for Yin Yoga, which is all about stillness and quietness. In a world where we are encouraged to be “Yang” all the time, working fast, being loud. Yin allows us the time to stop, and look inside, and to reset our systems, allowing the body to rejuvenate and be totally rested.

“I did my very first Yoga class 16 years ago, I didn’t know much about the practice only that it made me feel good. For years Yoga was just something I did as a hobby every now and again.

Almost 10 years ago it all started to change, slowly, so slowly I barely noticed my whole life being turned upside down. It was no coincidence that while all these changes were happening I had started a more dedicated yoga practice. Without noticing, everything I was learning on the mat, had started to seep out into my life.

In 2016 I decided it was time for more change, so I decided to travel to Rishikesh Yog Peeth, in Northern India, where I received my Hatha Yoga Teaching Certificate, and I made a promise to myself to teach Yoga as a lifestyle, not just to teach Asana (Yoga Postures). I immediately started to share what I had learned by teaching classes, workshops and Retreats.

Working out in Nature is a passion that I satisfy by leading Meditation and Hiking experiences, this has led me to working with the elements.

I am also a qualified Reiki Practitioner, which has helped me to understand that we are not just a physical body, but we are also an energetic body, and keeping our energies balanced through Yoga can keep us stay healthy and full of life.”

The food experience on the retreat

At Mulvarra, we are very excited about food. Excited about where it comes from, how it is grown, how it is prepared, who you eat it with. As we are still in the early stages of developing Mulvarra and its Breathing Space, we are currently using fresh ingredients and organic food where we can but in the future we will grow our own food.We generally stick to vegetarian cooking in Mulvarra, although we are flexible and also cater to a variety of dietary restrictions. Vegetarian cooking is so versatile, you really don’t miss that piece of meat on your plate when it’s not there. Whatever your thoughts are on the topic, there is no denying that the meat production in most countries is not sustainable and certainly not animal friendly. When we do, very occasionally, prepare meat dishes we make sure it’s organically sourced

Food Highlights

  • Full board accommodation
  • All meals and drinks included
  • healthy energy snacks
  • Food is all vegetarian and organic produce
