Your teacher:
Pam Butler

Pam’s interest in yoga was sparked upon her first chance encounter in 1992. She began to do yoga regularly simply because it gave her time to pay attention, to stretch, relax, breathe, sit quietly.

Yoga fit in with life’s ebbs and flows and offered support no matter what was going on: Pregnancies, injuries, phases of exhaustion, phases of great health, loss and grief, and simply the day-to-day stresses that we all encounter.

Since training to teach in 2000, Pam has been sharing this lifelong practice with passion and compassion. Helping others find their yoga spark has been incredibly fulfilling.

Your teacher:
Rachel Roberts

Rachel is an enigmatic soul whose love of creativity and expression evolved from a deep hunger for stories which tell us who we are and what we are truly capable of. Through her own experience with complex trauma, and her frustration with some western practices inability to recognise the impact unresolved trauma can have on a person’s capacity for living – she was called to yoga.

Her love of stories is reinforced by her curiosity with the world so naturally she studied Creative Writing, Humanities & Philosophy, receiving her master’s degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2016. She had her first short story published at the age of 11 and has been published and won many other awards since.

Teaching from an instinctual heart, Rachel uses a healthy dose of loving humour, sharp wit and emotional maturity. She creates an environment of personal safety, promoting healing, self-discovery, and self-reflection. She will hold you tenderly in a sacred restful space allowing the truest and deepest stories of your body and soul to unfold.

Alchemy of Yoga and Writing Day Retreat

Full day workshop 6th November

Yoga supports us as we explore and make space for the body’s stories. Writing gives these stories form, shape, a narrative, it bears witness to our bodily experiences and deepens our relationship to self and the world around us. And our nervous system is where all our stories begin.

Life in lockdown, with its fears; real and imagined have locked us in a relentless and chronic state of unease. Through mindful, engaged yoga practices which challenge the body, and insightful, playful writing tools to challenge the mind, this full day in-person workshop will gently calm your nervous system and lovingly guide you back to the safety of your body.

Allow Pam  and Rachel to hold you in a deeply hallowed space as you explore and unfold your sacred stories.

€125 for the full day of activities and this includes lunch, snacks and tea & coffee.

To book: Visit www.theyogiberry.com or www.pambutleryoga.com

The Breathing Space studio

This large, light-filled space has commanding views over the Barrow River and surrounding forests, as well as the 7th century monastic settlement of St Mullins itself.  Although it was designed specifically to function as a yoga studio and mediatation space,  it supports multiple uses. It features  a special infra red heating system and a full complement of yoga equipment.
