Your teachers:
Susie Murray

Susie’s love of yoga comes through in her classes.  She teaches with a strong emphasis on breath and movement.  Skilfully sequencing classes to inspire the soul to feel free in movement and to fully express your own uniqueness.  She believes every practice is a movement meditation and she blends her passion for music into her class to create an environment of soft melodic liberation.

She wants everyone in her class to leave feeling a little stronger, a little softer, more connected and less attached.

.

Your teachers:
Aideen bates

After a brief introduction to yoga in her late teens early 20’s by Greg Walsh it wasn’t until her mid/late 20’s that her practice became a regular part of her daily life. After joining the ElbowRoom and becoming a monthly member she fell in love with vinyasa after stumbling into a 7am class taught by Deirdre Hughes at the time and was instantly hooked.

After many years and vinyasa classes later Aideen was fiercely inspired by her teachers Rohan Hennessy, Kim Jacob & Susie Murray to further her practice by completing her 200hr training.

Read more about this event

Together we will practice, breathe, eat, laugh, walk and rest.  Each practice will be open to all levels and abilities where we have an emphasis on celebrating connection, stillness, transition and strength.

In our morning classes we will build efficient techniques and tools in movement to strengthen, stabilise and open the body.  Both Susie and Aideen will guide you through a practice which will focus on your technique in vinyasa and build a strong flow.  Learn how to use proper breathing techniques to improve concentration and focus in asana.

Our evening practice will be to solely emphasise the power of releasing our energy to the earth and find a home to unwind and rest in a deep restorative practice of Yoga Nidra or a led meditation.

During this retreat you might find you can truly listen to what your heart needs and meet those requests.  During your free time you can indulge in journaling your experiences, or explore Ireland’s beautiful countryside on long walks where we will provide an opportunity for a silent walking meditation; or curl up in Mulvarra House with a book or a daytime nap.

The benefits of investing in your wellbeing are immeasurable; here are just a few reasons you might want to book this retreat:

1. Deepen your understanding of asana and pranayama practices in an environment where you will feel supported and guided by two yoga teachers.

2. Develop your meditation practice in a centre where you can fully switch off from outside distractions.

3. Eat well.  This retreat includes three healthy and delicious vegetarian meals a day.  No cooking, no shopping and no stress.

4. Self-Reflect. Take time just for yourself to connect and reflect through the physical practices of Yoga but also through the guided practices of journaling and self-reflection.

5. De-stress:  It goes without saying that on a yoga retreat you are sure to deeply relax and de-stress.  Be refreshed and renewed by the glorious countryside. Lie in bed for a little longer if you like or wake and join a class or a hike during the day.

6. Meet new friends.  Yoga is about connection and you are guaranteed to meet people on a yoga retreat with similar interests.  Whether you come on your own or with friends you are just one Om away from a new yoga community.

The food experience on the retreat

At Mulvarra, we are very excited about food. Excited about where it comes from, how it is grown, how it is prepared, who you eat it with. As we are still in the early stages of developing Mulvarra and its Breathing Space, we are currently using fresh ingredients and organic food where we can but in the future we will grow our own food.We generally stick to vegetarian cooking in Mulvarra, although we are flexible and also cater to a variety of dietary restrictions. Vegetarian cooking is so versatile, you really don’t miss that piece of meat on your plate when it’s not there. Whatever your thoughts are on the topic, there is no denying that the meat production in most countries is not sustainable and certainly not animal friendly. When we do, very occasionally, prepare meat dishes we make sure it’s organically sourced

  • Full board accommodation
