Sam Kavanagh and Mulvarra House and  are teaming up to provide a unique intensive composition workshop for people of all levels of musical experience. This workshop is aimed at people who are interested in writing music for  choir/voices, but who may not know how to approach it. No previous experience necessary, as you’ll be able to tailor the work to your individual ability. The course will cover the following:

  • Ear-training: identifying intervals, from score and by ear

  • Transcription: write down music you hear and/or imagine

  • Polyphony: sing and play multi-part music at the keyboard

  • Harmony: identifying and playing chords from score and by ear

  • Rhythm: all of the above will include rhythm.. you can’t avoid it; it’s everywhere!
