St. Mullins is at the centre of the 'Sunshine Circuit', southeast Ireland. Un-crowded courses, at reasonable rates, are here to be enjoyed by all golfers whatever your standard. Carrigleade Golf course is an 18 hole course right on the outskirts of St Mullins itself. Some of the finest parkland golf courses in Ireland such as Borris, New Ross, Enniscorthy, Mount Wolseley , Carlow, Gowran Golf Club at The Gowran Race Course in Kilkenny and the world famous Mount Juliet are a short distance away.


For fishing enthusiasts, the stretch of the River Barrow running through St. Mullins is inhabited by a wide variety of fish. Apart from salmon and trout there is a wide variety for the coarse angler. These include Bream, Dace, Pike, Roach, Rudd, Hybrids, Perch and Pike.  There is a unique quality to the stretch of the River Barrow flowing through St. Mullins in that for the summer months of May and June and partly into July, the Twaite Shad inhabit the river. It costs 10 Euros to join St. Mullins Angling Club. This includes insurance cover for one fishing season. It entitles the angler to gain access to Island fishing in St. Mullins.


Apart from the many local historic sites in St. Mullins, Mulvarra House is well situated for touring this beautiful part of southeast Ireland. The medieval city of Kilkenny and historic Waterford are only a short drive away. Even closer is New Ross with its now famous Famine ship 'The Dunbrody' open all year round. Close to New Ross you can find The Hook Peninsula and John F. Kennedy Park and Arboretum. Other local attractions include Race Course, Borris Quads, Duiske glass, and Cushendale Woolen Mills. Other historic towns such as Enniscorthy and Carlow, associated with the 1798 Rebellion, are easily accessible.
